Immig-RANTS was a provocative evening of spoken word that challenged the rhetoric and semantics around the growing refugee crisis. The event brought together four of the UK’s leading spoken word artists:
- Hollie McNish
- Vanessa Kisuule
- Anthony Anaxagorou
- Inja
Each was tasked with composing an original 7-minute piece, based on their own personal experiences as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation immigrant – as well as drawing on the history of immigration, inspirational figures from the past, and recent media reports. It was their personal response to the crisis, their Immig-RANT.
